What does the June 2026 NMC FMGL FAQ mean?
This is an important distinction. A university may offer several programmes, intakes or curriculum structures. A directory listing, consultant statement or broad university reputation does not prove that the programme offered to your batch satisfies every India-return condition.
NMC also states that it does not endorse a list of foreign medical institutions. Its study-abroad page tells families to obtain course details—including content, duration and internship—directly from the foreign university. Therefore, phrases such as “NMC approved university in Georgia” should immediately trigger a request for the underlying official evidence.

Marketing material sits below all three levels. A brochure, WhatsApp screenshot, webinar or student testimonial may help you ask better questions, but none is regulatory proof.

Admission red flags that deserve a hard pause
NMC says it does not endorse a list of foreign medical institutions. Ask which exact regulation and programme evidence supports the claim.
A marketing duration is not a month-wise academic and internship breakdown. Obtain the formal calendar.
Ask where, for how long, under whose supervision, with which rotations and what certificate is issued.
“International degree” is not an answer. Ask how a graduate becomes eligible to practise in Georgia under current local rules.
Do not assume a cross-campus or cross-country path remains compliant. Verify before joining, not after disruption.
No university, course or consultant can guarantee a licensing-exam result or future regulatory decision.
Pressure is not proof

What the NMC FAQ update does—and does not—mean
An FAQ helps explain how a regulator understands or applies an existing framework. It should be read with the underlying regulation and later official notices. It is not sensible to treat one screenshot, social-media summary or consultant-made checklist as the complete rulebook.

Think in layers: school existence, programme structure, host-country status, individual student eligibility, required examination and post-return registration steps are separate layers. A green tick in one layer is not a blanket green signal.
Your action depends on your current stage
Before admission
Your strongest bargaining position is before money changes hands. Obtain the programme structure, internship proof, medium confirmation, local licence explanation, current fee/refund terms and correct campus details. Match every document to the intended intake. If the written evidence is incomplete, keep the shortlist open.
During the programme
Compare what is delivered with what was promised. Save official calendars, attendance, transcripts, clinical postings, supervisor records and any policy change. Ask questions early if a rotation, teaching medium, campus or internship arrangement changes. A six-year memory is weak; a dated evidence folder is useful.
Before the return pathway
Organise the final degree, transcript, internship certificate, licence/registration evidence, travel history and required verification records. Check current NMC, NBEMS and State Medical Council instructions for the applicable examination and registration pathway. Do not rely on a process followed by an older batch.
Parents should run a quarterly document review
Once every three months, the student and parent can spend twenty minutes updating one shared index: document name, issuing authority, issue date, semester, original location and backup location. This small habit reduces panic when a university portal changes, an email account becomes inaccessible or an authority requests several years of evidence.
Use secure storage with controlled access. Keep clear scans, but preserve originals. Do not casually share passports, signatures, licence records or identity documents in large messaging groups. When a consultant needs a file for a legitimate application step, confirm the purpose, recipient and secure submission route.

Do not average a critical failure with attractive benefits. A low fee, modern campus and friendly student review cannot neutralise an unresolved internship or local-licence question. Classify every requirement before the payment deadline.

A good final admission file should make it possible for another careful reader to understand why the family believed the programme met each material condition on the date of enrolment. That does not guarantee a regulator's future decision, but it produces a far more responsible decision than relying on slogans.
Payment rule: if a critical condition is contradictory or not verified, the rational next step is clarification—not a deposit made to “reserve the seat while checking later.” Refund disputes are a terrible substitute for due diligence.
