How Much NEET Score Is Required for MBBS Abroad in 2026?
For most Indian students planning to practise in India later, the first score question is whether they officially qualified NEET—not whether they secured an Indian government MBBS seat.

For NEET UG 2026, NTA reported 715–213 for UR/EWS and 212–177 for OBC, SC and ST. PwBD ranges differ. NEET Score, Percentile and Rank Are Not Interchangeable
Your NEET score
The marks earned out of 720. Compare them only with the official range for your category and year.
Your percentile
This indicates performance relative to other candidates and controls the category-wise qualifying criterion.
Your All India Rank
AIR is important for competitive counselling, but a high numerical rank does not by itself answer whether you qualified.
Your scorecard status
For abroad planning, verify the official “qualified/not qualified” status, category, marks and documents together.
A score may be insufficient for a government MBBS seat in India yet still satisfy the annual qualifying threshold. That is why students researching MBBS abroad without NEET should first distinguish “low but qualified” from “not qualified.”
Is 120, 150, 200 or 250 Enough for MBBS Abroad?
| Example 2026 score | Likely meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 120 or 150 | Below the published 2026 lower qualifying range shown above. | Do not assume an overseas offer protects the India pathway. Recheck the official scorecard and seek rule-based advice. |
| 180 or 200 | Could fall inside some reserved-category ranges but below the UR/EWS lower end. | Your category and official qualification status decide the answer—not the mark alone. |
| 250 | Above the 2026 lower end shown for the listed categories. | Qualification may be satisfied, but university, programme, documents, visa and regulatory checks remain. |
Does a higher NEET score reduce MBBS abroad fees?
Usually, tuition is set by the university rather than your Indian AIR. A university may separately offer merit aid, but it must be verified in its official fee policy. Compare the full tuition, hostel, insurance, visa, travel and living cost in our MBBS abroad cost guide.
Can I Study MBBS Abroad With 40,000 or 2 Lakh Rank?
Possibly, but rank alone is not enough to decide. Check these in order:
- Does your official 2026 scorecard say you qualified under the correct category?
- Do you meet the foreign university’s academic, age, language and document requirements?
- Does the medical programme satisfy the conditions relevant to an Indian student’s future registration pathway?
- Have you verified the complete cost and admission terms directly from current documents?
A 40,000 AIR and a 2 lakh AIR represent very different competitive positions, but either number must be read with marks, category and qualification status. No responsible consultant should promise a safe medical career route from AIR alone.

Request a Profile ReviewWhich Country Accepts a Low NEET Score?
There is no single country-wise NEET cutoff that safely applies to every university. NEET is an Indian eligibility examination; overseas universities may add their own criteria. Compare a named institution and programme, not broad statements such as “all universities accept 150 marks.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum NEET score required for MBBS abroad in 2026?
For 2026, NTA published a qualifying marks range of 715–213 for UR/EWS and 212–177 for OBC, SC and ST. PwBD ranges differ. Use the qualification status on your official scorecard.
Is 150 marks enough for MBBS abroad in 2026?
150 is below the lower end of the official 2026 qualifying ranges in the NTA table. A foreign offer does not replace Indian eligibility or protect a future India registration pathway.
Is 200 marks enough for MBBS abroad?
In 2026, 200 can fall inside some reserved-category qualifying ranges but below the UR/EWS lower end of 213. Your category and official scorecard status control the answer.
Is 250 a good NEET score for MBBS abroad?
250 is above the 2026 lower qualifying marks shown for the listed categories. It may support eligibility, but admission, programme compliance, visa and registration checks are still required.
Can I get MBBS abroad with a 2 lakh NEET rank?
Rank alone cannot decide. Confirm that your official scorecard shows qualified, then verify the university and programme requirements relevant to you.
Can I study MBBS abroad if I failed NEET?
A foreign institution might issue an offer under local criteria, but an Indian student who wants to preserve the India registration pathway should not use that offer as a substitute for NEET qualification.
Does NEET score affect MBBS abroad fees?
Usually university tuition is fixed independently of NEET AIR. Any scholarship or discount should be verified in the university’s current written policy.
Which country is best for a low NEET score?
No country is best from score alone. Compare university eligibility, programme structure, clinical training, licensing route, total cost, safety and your long-term practice plan.
